Bushfire Protection
For homes in the South West, bushfire protection isn't optional - it's essential. Crimsafe's Tensile-Tuff® stainless steel mesh is specially designed with a 1.5mm x 1.5mm aperture that meets the requirements of Australian Standard AS 3959-2009 for construction in bushfire-prone areas. When installed with a compliant window system, Crimsafe screens provide proven protection from ember attack, reduce radiant heat transfer and shield glass from the impact of burning debris. Across all Bushfire Attack Levels up to and including the most severe, BAL-FZ. The same screen that protects against intruders protects against fire.
Cyclone Protection
For homes in areas exposed to severe storm events, Crimsafe's purpose-built Cyclone Debris Screens provide an extraordinary level of protection. Featuring a unique build-out installation that creates space between the screen and the window face, these screens are approved for use in Cyclone regions C and D and are independently tested to withstand wind-borne debris impacts up to 44 m/s, equivalent to wind gusts of up to 392 km/h. They comply with Australian Standard AS 1170.2:2011 and deliver full Crimsafe security against intruders alongside their extreme weather credentials.
